Philipp Kurashev Signs Two-Year Contract with Chicago Blackhawks
$4.5 Million Deal Keeps Forward in Chicago
Kurashev Earns Pay Raise After Impressive Season
After a breakout campaign in 2022-23, Philipp Kurashev has secured a new contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. On Sunday, an independent arbitrator awarded the forward a two-year deal worth $4.5 million.
Kurashev, a 23-year-old Swiss native, played a key role in Chicago's improved offensive production last season. In 82 games, he recorded 19 goals and 41 assists, both career highs. His strong play earned him a spot on the Blackhawks' top line alongside Patrick Kane and Max Domi.
The new contract represents a significant pay raise for Kurashev, who earned $875,000 last season. The $2.25 million average annual value puts him among the team's top-paid forwards. Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson praised Kurashev's contributions and expressed optimism about his future in Chicago.
