Roberto De Zerbi was born on June 6, 1979, in Brescia, Italy. As a player, he began his career with AC Lumezzane and then moved on to Foggia Calcio, US Avellino 1912, and Parma FC. He played primarily as a central midfielder and enjoyed moderate success at the club level.

Coaching Journey

After retiring from playing, De Zerbi embarked on a coaching career. He started with Foggia Calcio in 2013 and quickly gained attention for his innovative and attacking style of play. He then moved on to US Sassuolo in 2018, where he further honed his philosophy and led the team to impressive results, including a seventh-place finish in Serie A.

Appointment at Brighton
